Stop Emotional Eating
The emWave Program for Stopping Emotional Eating

More Than Halfway

I am more than halfway through the book, and I am slowly digesting each principle. This is probably a good time to introduce the principles.

> Reject the Diet Mentality
> Honor Your Hunger
> Make Peace with Food
> Challenge the Food Police
>
Feel Your Fullness
> Discover the Satisfaction Factor
>
Cope with Your Emotions without Using Food
>
Respect Your Body
>
Exercise – Feel the Difference
>
Honor Your Health – Gentle Nutrition

The book goes into great detail about each principle, dedicating an entire chapter to each. More than explaining what to eat, as a diet would, this book is introducing a way of thinking, a different way to approach food.

I have been tempted to try to implement a principle or two before finishing the book, but I think my experience with failed diets has made me a little hesitant. After all, I want to give this idea the best chance of succeeding. If I start it without all of the information, the whole picture, how can I really expect it to work?

I like how the book describes an awakening to intuitive eating. From “hitting diet bottom” to “treasure the pleasure”, intuitive eating is truly a transformation, and it takes time. It’s not the diet mentality where you are either good or bad, and if you’re bad, the diet is over. With intuitive eating, some days will be better than others, but the general trend is that you will become better at eating intuitively.

Now onto Chapter 12…I may just finish this book today.
