When Will I Reach My Goal Weight?
I came up with a way to estimate when I will reach my weight loss goals. I know I really should not be focusing on when I get there. I just need to focus on my journey to my goal. However, I obsess with things like this, and I needed to find a way to satisfy myself.
Since I know how much I have lost already and how long it took me to do it, I could simply project the same rate of loss (currently, 4.04 lbs/week) to determine the exact date I get to my goal, but that is not realistic. The chances I will maintain the same rate of weight loss to the end are not very good. So, I decided to create a date range for when I will achieve each short-term goal.

As an example, I determined that I should weigh 275 pounds sometime between November 3rd and November 24th. If I maintain the same rate of weight loss, I should be 275 by November 3rd. If the rate falls to only 3 pounds per week, I will reach my goal by November 24th. Of course, there is the potential that my rate of weight loss will be higher or lower than the 3.00 – 4.04 range, but I’m pretty comfortable it will be in the range. I created a spreadsheet to do this for me automatically. It probably is not necessary, but it certainly satisfies me.
I cooked all evening for the Potluck tomorrow. There was just a little sampling to make sure I don’t disgust anybody.
I’ve started to think about participating in a mini-triathlon. I don’t exactly how much exercise it is, but I think it might be doable in about fifty pounds or so.
