7 New Ways to Enjoy NutriSystem Advanced

NutriSystem has added some new foods to its NutriSystem Advanced program.  I actually found seven new items when modifying my next order.  Here they are:

  • Apple Strudel Bar – NutriSystem has an Apple Strudel Scone.  I tried it a couple times, but it wasn’t my cup of tea.  I am not sure what to expect from an Apple Strudel Bar.  I have not had the opportunity to try any of the new items yet, but I notice they are not calling this a granola bar.  It could be more like a Strawberry Shortcake Bar or a Blueberry Lemon Bar.
  • Cinnamon Bun Bar – Since there is already a Cinnamon Swirl Granola Bar, this may very well a breakfast version of one of the snack bars.  They are very dense, and some may find them a bit too heavy.  I could be totally off base, and I’ll know soon after I get my order, but this type of bar could be a brand new recipe and unlike anything offered by NutriSystem Advanced before these items.
  • Harvest Nut Bar – I love the name of this bar, and I hope it tastes as good as it sounds. 
  • Sourdough Pizza with Cheese – I have tried all of the pizzas.  The Flatbread Pizza, the Thick Crust Pizza, and the Thin Crust Pizza are all great.  They are baked in the oven and are very satisifying.  I do wish they had some meat, but they are great for evenings when I do not need to have meat.  I love sourdough bread, so a Sourdough Pizza with Cheese has the makings of a great healthy pizza.
  • Spaghetti with Meat Sauce – Rotini with Meatballs and Tomato Sauce is one of my favorite meals.  I wrote about it in Top 7 NutriSystem Advanced Dinners.  If NutriSystem crafted the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce in a similar way, then this will be a great meal.
  • Sweet and Sour Chicken with Noodles – I couldn’t figure out if this is really a new item or not.  I do not recall having a sweet and sour meal on NutriSystem Advanced.  Their other chicken and noodle items are very good, so I expect more of the same.
  • Turkey Terazzini – Now is a great time to introduce this meal.  Can you remember how many times you had Turkey Terrazini after other Thanksgivings?  You gotta do something with that turkey.  Since I do not plan to bring home any turkey after Thanksgiving dinner, I will still have the opportunity to enjoy a leftover-turkey dish.

I was on the phone today with NutriSystem to get some replacements for my substitutions, and I asked if any new foods would be introduced.  I was thinking that some new items would come out for the new year.  The representative did not mention any of the foods above, but she did say some frozen meals were going to be introduced very shortly.  Perhaps, the dinners I have listed are actually frozen.  I don’t know.  I’ll be watching, and I’ll share as soon as I find out.

Breakfast:  NutriCinnamon Squares Cereal; Crabmeat; Banana; Bread, whole-wheat; Morning Coffee

Morning Snack:  Egg Whites; Raisins

Lunch:  Pasta Parmesan with Broccoli; Lettuce, green or red leaf; FF Dressing

Afternoon Snack:  Honey Mustard Pretzel Sticks

Dinner:  Hearty Beef Stew; Tomato; Strawberries; Oil, canola, olive, peanut, safflower; Bread, whole-wheat

Dessert:  Chocolatey Nougat Bar with Peanuts and Caramel

Drinks:  Crystal Light; water

Exercise:  I didn’t exercise today.  I’m holding at 50% of the weekly exercise goal.  I’m planning to do my strength training tomorrow followed by some skating.
