Happy New Year! Take a Hike!
Happy New Year! Welcome to 2009! Now, take a hike! No, don’t stop reading and leave. A nice long hike is a great way to get some exercise, and, in my case, a great way to start 2009.
I met up with a group of hikers at the Hickory Hammock Trailhead somewhere between Okeechobee, FL and Sebring, FL at 9am this morning. We walked out about 4.5 miles, ate lunch, then walked back.
The weather was beautiful. It was so quiet and peaceful. I got some exercise, too. It was great, and I took some pictures.
As I mentioned before, I wanted to set the tone right away for 2009, and I believe I have. In 2009, I will reach my weight loss goal, and I will be a much more active person than what I was a good part of 2008.
I walked with a group of people who are very enthusiastic about hiking. They have opened my eyes to all of the hiking options in my area. Granted, I needed to take the first step by getting active and trying something new. I’m glad I did.
So, what is your vision for 2009? Did you write any New Year’s resolutions to lose weight, eat healthy, and get more exercise?
