Today was spent trying to make sure I wrapped up as many loose ends as possible. It’s quite interesting how focused and productive one can be on the last day before vacation. You make a list of everything that needs to be finished, and somehow you get it done.

EatingIntuitively.com is a paid affiliate of Nutrisystem, Inc.

I can now start thinking about how I am going to spend the next week. Unlike past vacations where it was more important to eat out and just hang out, I am looking forward to a more active vacation.

I’ve discovered hiking, and I want to do more. I want to get on a bike and explore. I plan to start each day exploring a new place. I’ll continue to eat healthy, too.

I think my vacation will also be really good for losing some more weight. I plan to eat my healthy diet plan, and, by my calculation, I’ll do a lot more exercise than my normal weekly amount.

I just wonder how long it is going to take for me to “decompress” and start really enjoying the time off. How long does it take you to remove yourself from your job and truly enjoy your vacation?

I have had an extremely busy week, and it is not going to let up tomorrow or even over the weekend. I’m planning to put in many extra hours working. It sucks!

To help offset the need to work so much, I am planning a hike for Sunday, and I am reaching for a new goal. I’ve picked out a hike that is 9.4 miles! The hike on New Year’s Day was 9 miles.

It’s a great time of year in Florida to take a hike. Florida rarely gets very cold, and snow is never on the ground. However, this weekend promises to be a little cooler. According to AccuWeather, the temperature will be in the low 60s when I wake up on Sunday. I should be hiking by 8am, and I cannot imagine it getting much warmer than the low 70s.

I scheduled the hike for Sunday, so I can just focus on the work I need to complete on Saturday. I’m thinking I’ll push really hard to get as much done as possible, so I can feel free to enjoy my hike away from work. I hate sacrificing my weekend to work, but it’s just one of those situations where it is a must.

I am not going to the gym this weekend, but I am planning to return. I want to switch gyms, and I am trying to pinpoint when the membership for my old gym will end and when I will need to sign up for the new gym. Strength building is an important part of getting to my goal weight, but I am okay without it for now, as long as I still exercise. The hike will do that for me.

What is your next big exercise goal? Are you working toward a triathlon or marathon? Please share your next big exercise goal in the comments section.

Tomorrow is the big visit to the fair. I already wrote about the food and the pitfalls there. I’m dealing with that by bringing my NutriSystem Advanced food with me. I’ll avoid all of the fried stuff.

The upside is that I can get exercise at the fair. I know. I know. Most people go to the fair to go on the rides. Well, I don’t enjoy many rides. The kids who will accompany me do.

So, I will focus on walking around the fair to get my exercise. From ride to ride to show to whatever, there are plenty of places to walk at the fair. I’m sure the kids will keep me running around, so it will be some good calorie burning.

I’m also sure I got exercise last year, too. However, I offset the exercise by eating a bunch of junk. I can’t remember everything I ate. I think I let the kids decide what I ate. It was way too much.

EatingIntuitively.com is a paid affiliate of Nutrisystem, Inc.

In other news, I went to the gym this morning and spent time with the trainer. He took me through some really good compound exercises. I could really feel the burn! I’m going to spend one more week with him, then I’ll resume planning my weekly workouts.

I keep getting on the scale in anticipation of weigh day on Monday. I want to drop into the 260s and kiss the 270s goodbye forever. I think it’s going to be close. We’ll see on Monday.

What are some unique places you walk for exercise? I’m walking at the fair for exericse. I’ve seen people walking at the mall for exercise. Where else can you burn some calories?

Breakfast: NutriFlakes Cereal – 40% Bran Flakes; Egg Whites; Raisins; Bread, whole-wheat; Morning Coffee

Morning Snack: Beef, lean, trimmed; Raisins

Lunch: Fettucini Alfredo; Lettuce, green or red leaf; FF Dressing

Afternoon Snack: Chocolate Chip Cookie

Dinner: Flame Broiled Beef Patty – Cooked; Bell Peppers, red or green, cooked; Strawberries; Oil, canola, olive, peanut, safflower; Pasta, cooked al dente; Bread, whole-wheat

Dessert: Fudge Brownie

Drinks: Crystal Light; water

Exercise: 60 minutes in the gym with a trainer. I’ve reached my weekly exercise goal. The walking at the fair tomorrow is extra.

Pedometer: ?
