Heart Walk Practice, Week One
I am walking in the Heart Walk on September 27th. The last time I participated (in 2006, I think) it was miserable. I was in pain, and I finished very near to last. My walking partner even left me behind.
This year I want things to be different. I want to walk confidently and easily. That will be possible, because I am healthier now. I have been losing weight, and I have been exercising. I am making absolutely sure I amd ready by doing practice walks for the three Saturdays before the actual walk. I finished the first practice walk today, and it was not bad at all.

I had lunch with my family today at Chili’s restaurant. I ordered from the “Guiltless Grill” menu, and it was very satisfying. The best part is that I knew exactly how many calories and fat are in the dish. We were celebrating a birthday, and I successfully avoided the cake. I had frosting on my fingers at one point, but I avoided licking them!
